Next Cruise: Alaska

We don't like to be far from home during hurricane season but late spring-early summer is a fine time for us to be away. And go on a cruise. This time it's on the Golden Princess for a tour of Alaksa's Inside Passage.

The cruise is seven nights, round trip out of Seattle. On it we visit Glacier Bay, Mendenhall Glacier, Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, Alaska and Victoria, BC. And there's a ride on the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad up into the mountains outside Skagway. A bonus will be the opportunity to see a little of Seattle before and after the cruise.

I thought your statement that you don't like to be far away from during hurricane season was funny. Me, I would not want to be any place close to a hurricane.

However, I would like to take an Alaska cruise. The next cruise I have coming up is in April from Panama, where I live, to Spain.

Was just looking at blogs on the ageless site for the year 1942 and found yours

I am glad you found my blog on The Ageless Project -- http://jenett.org/ageless/ -- it's a nice site. Is the year 1942 significant for you, too?

As for hurricanes, unlike the earthquskes we experienced in California, you know when a hurricane is coming -- at least a few days warning. There are lots of household chores when there's a storm coming in. If necessary we can leave for an inland location just before it hits but it would be a terrible helpless feeling to be far away when a big one is heading toward your home.

The Panama to Spain crossing sounds wonderful. Bon voyage.

Ralph and I would repeat our Alaska cruise in a heartbeat. The inside passage is gorgeous. If you've never been, I think you will love Seattle.
And the pacific Northwest is politically about 5 years ahead of the rest of the country.
